Islamic art museum

The building of  the Museum of Islamic Art  , designed by the famous architect I. Mother. Bay is a symbol of the State of Qatar. The museum, located on reclaimed land within the waters of the Corniche, draws its influence from Islamic architecture.

The building is made of limestone, which reflects the changes of light and transforms them into multiple shades that differ with the progression of the daylight hours. As for the geometric patterns of the Islamic world, they decorate the spaces of the museum and show the enormity of the building from the inside.

Arab Museum of Modern Art

Al Zubarah Fort

Al-Zubarah Fort is   one of the historical and heritage places worth visiting during the Eid Al-Adha holiday. For our ancestors, this castle was a thriving pearl-fishing and trading port. Today, it is the largest heritage site in the State of Qatar, with its magnificent wall, residential palaces, homes, markets, industrial areas and mosques.

It is one of the best surviving examples of Gulf cities that were based on trade during the period between the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, to be included in 2013 on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Until recently, the castle was used as a police station and is now a heritage site. Prisoners were kept in cells accessible only by a rickety ladder, leaving only one cell open to the public.
