Overview

Between an ancient past, a glorious present, and a unique future, the National Museum of Qatar, with its charming look and fragrant look, accompanies its visitors in an immersive experience during which it roams its corridors that recount the chapters of the story of the State of Qatar and its shadows over the pages of the history of its benevolent people. The Arabian Peninsula is in its infancy, attracting everyone's ears to hear the echo of the rich Qatari culture and standing on its rich heritage, and at the same time expressing the aspirations of a vibrant nation, which refused to look forward to the horizons of a new future. The picture is complete, and our new museum embraces the palace of Sheikh Abdullah bin Jassim Al Thani (1880-1957), the son of the founder of the modern state of Qatar. It is a recently restored historical landmark, as it was previously a home for the ruling family and the seat of the Qatari government, and then it became the national museum of the state. Seamlessly, the new building, which was designed by architect Jean Nouvel, blends the aforementioned palace with an impressive collection of innovative artworks by Qatari and international artists, in addition to rare collections, precious collections, documentary materials and interactive educational tools.
